Looking at professional feature films is a fantastic way of learning how to make a film opening sequence and learning what "to do". However, you should also check out amateur / student work to learn what "not to do."
My tip for this week is to go on You Tube, search for AS Foundation Project and watch some of the film opening sequences available. If you cringe or think it is rubbish, ask yourself why? Is it the bad acting, dodgy costumes, dismal lighting? Or is it the poorly written dialogue etc? Make a list of the all the awful things you notice and then decide in your groups how you will make sure you do not fall into the same trap!
A link to one school's media work on You Tube is below but there are literally thousands on there so watch a few!
